Modifying Large Upload settings via Web.config

This may be a re-hash but I'm adding it as it has come up internally in DNN Corp more than a few times in the past 3 months.

We've made additional changes to how you modify the value for large file upload so here's the new primer I posted internally today:

Open Windows Explorer on the Server

Go C:\Windows\System32

Find NotePad

Right click and open as Administrator

In Notepad File > Open

Shell to web folder containing the DNN site files

Open web.config

Find "allow large file uploads"

Change the value of "maxRequestLength" (it's in Kb's)

Scroll down to system.web servers

At the end, below <validation> add:


<security>

<requestFiltering>

<requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="300000000" />

</requestFiltering>

Save web.config

You're site should now be configured to the new value you added for "maxRequestLength"

To check log in as Host go Host Settings > Other Settings

Scroll to the bottom and you should see your newly updated value, less 4,000 Kb, in the "Max Upload Size" text box
