I'm not a complete Geek

Just to prove I'm not a complete Geek, I've decided to Blog about the World Cup (Go England). 

As I was born in England and emmigrated to Canada over 25 years ago, I still have an affection for my native land (Go England).

While England have progressed now to the Quarter Finals (thanks to a brilliant goal by David Beckham against Ecuador this morning), I have been disappointed (as many other England fans) by their rather nervous play.

A couple of teams have impressed me so far.  Germany has played much better than their pre-Tournament form would have expected and Australia have qualified from the Group play for the first time.

After getting up early on a Sunday morning to watch England today (8am PDT), I was also looking forward to the other game played today - Portugal vs Holland.  This game was a disgrace to the sport and to the two countries involved.  12 yellow cards and 4 red cards were given out.  While the referee let the game get out of hand, the level of cheating, play-acting and out and out dirty play was disgusting.

And did I say Go England !!!
