Working with Calendar and Sub Calendar in Events Module

Hello everyone.
My setup is pretty basic. On my home page I have placed an Events module that is set to display in List mode. I then have an 'Events' page that has an Events module set to display in calendar view. What I want to happen is when an event is added on the Event's page it is displayed there on the calendar as well as in the List View on the home page.
Now I read a few articles that talked about being able to achieve this type of functionality through the use of Sub-Calendars but there are no sub-calendars available to select on either the home page or the events page. The Events page is not a child of the Home page, they both exist as root level elements, but I am not sure if that matters.
Can someone help me in getting this configured properly? Thanks!
