Hello,
This is my first time on the Community but I hope someone can help me... I was trying to upgrade my DNN account from 7.00.06 to 7.02. I downloaded the package made a backup of the dnn folder but not the database... I know stupid me... and I got mostly through the install up until the install page at 50% where the datasprings directory module caused the install to fail. I retired a few times and every time it failed at the same place. So after a few hours I decided to revert back to the old dnn package... I reuploaded the website and everything looked ok until I tried to log in. I got this error "A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred". Now I can't log in as my superuser and that is the only account that I made. I also tried cleaning the server and reuploading the whole website this morning but I didn't change the database but I am using godaddy shared hosting... I know this is bad but I am currently low on money and it works... so I recycled the iis box to see if it will refresh the database, but this didn't work either. I am really lost at what to do next. I really would like to upgrade to dnn 7.02 but with all of these problems I don't know if it is worth it..
Com on DNN this is why WordPress and Weebly are killing you for ease of use.
All the sites that I have are on production (live) but don't have any people just yet. My one portal website has information for the classifieds module but I can reinput the information in if necessary (its a lot of work but it can be done).
The only last thought I had was to clean EVERYTHING and do a new installation of DNN.
Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions because it is a ton of work to remove and reupload new install of dnn then figure out how to reupload all modules.
Thanks
Scott
