I'm not a tech-savvy user and don't have deep knowledge of DNN framework....

Basically, we want to create mobile app that is able to communicate (retrieve & update) DNN database.

My question:
Does DNN has built-in RESTful API? Which would read the database and forward the details to the front end in form of JSON or XML...

Can somebody share some ideas or have ever had experience in integrating DNN with external system or mobile app?

I would highly appreciate your ideas to better understand the concept of how DNN communicate with external system.
