Is there going to be a Gallery API so 3rd party companies can more tightly integrate with the new 6.2 release pending?

It would be nice to take advantage of the additional features 3rd parties bring to the table yet still make it feel like its part of 6.2.  Having the ability to post a photo to the journal is nice but if your using a 3rd party gallery module and you cannot pick from the images you uploaded to that gallery's modules (since that is the one your using), really makes that feature virtually useless IMO.
