Is there any tutorial on how to do a client-side validation just like the Register page on a new installed DNN 7?

I'm using razor scripts to develop my forms. This is where I need the validation. I also encountered this error which I can't solve:

system.web.helpers.validation' does not contain a definition for 'requirefield'

If you have any thoughts, please let me know.
