I've been playing around with the journal for a while but I'm not sure I quite figure what is the actual possibilities of the module.

If I'm not wrong this is kind of a FB wall, where users post their messages and others can comment. But here I can see all messages from all users so I don't get the idea behind friend, groups, ... seems to me like a free for all wall.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to configure the Journal module so each user only see his own posts and friends?
