Hi All,
I've got a client who wants to build a new site with the following functionality, and I'm curious if the experts here feel that DNN would be suitable.
There are 2 communities of users, call them A and B. Group A will have hundreds of thousands of users. Group B will have thousands of users.
When users in group B sign up, they should be given a private set of pages in which they can create content items. A content item will have a set of metadata tags to help identify it, and an expiration date. They can create as many content items as they want, but they can't be active for more than 30 days. As well, there would need to be metadata tags related to the actual group B user for identification in searches.
The users in group A sign up for the site, and select various metadata tags that they are interested in. These tags would ultimately relate to set of group B users, and some or all of each group B user's content items. The group A user would also input various demographic and contact info about themselves (email, mobile number, zip code, etc.).
When a group B user creates a content item, the site would need to identify all group A users that are interested in that content, and send them an email or SMS message with a link they can use to view the content on the site, assuming it hasn't expired.
Obviously there are finer details that would need to be ironed out, but this is the general concept.
Do you think DNN could handle this type of site? If so, what would be the requirements (version of DNN, add-on modules, configuration, etc.)?
Thanks in advance to all who read this and provide useful feedback.
Regards,
Mike
