Playing around with the blog module and I have a couple questions.

1) Are hierarchical categories supposed to work?   I assume so because the blog's category view is a tree view, however, when I add a hierarchical list of categories in the taxonomy manager, all I see in the Blog module is the root category.

2) What's the recommended way to tweak the default look/layout of the blog?   I don't see any templates or anything in the resources.   I want to do it in the way least likely to break if I were to install a module update.
