Hi all,

I've been trying to transfer my exisitng dnn portal (4.02) from my previous hosts to a new host. The database has been transfered from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2000, the folders have been transfered, the connection strings changed in web.config, but when I attempted to browse to the home page, I get the following:

Could not load file or assembly 'DotNetNuke.xxxxxxxxx' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference

Where xxxxxxx can be any dnn module.

Have you come across this before?

You can see the error yourself at:

http://thesalemlot.com.106.webhostforasp.net/

Specifics:

DNN Version: 4.02

SQL Server:
Version: 2000

There are numerous posts about the net such as:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/84117/scope/posts/Default.aspx

But no definitive answer. I've reuploaded serveral times, but with no luck.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Drew

I don't think this is what would cause your error, but did you also remember to change your portal alias before moving?

I was going to do that after. Does it need to be done before?

Make sure there is an entry in your PortalAlias table that links your new URL to the desired portal.
