Brand new at this. Trying to figure out skins, etc.

I copied the DNN-Blue skin folders (Containers, Skins) to a test directory and uploaded the skin to my DNN site. All seemed to go well.

Noticed that there are .ascx and .html files in the directories and tried deleting the .ascx files an then upload. Did this because I am wanting to develop my skins in HTML, not .aspx. When I upload the skin package (zip files for Containers and Skins inside of another zip for the skin name), I get no errors.

Problem is that when I do this and go back to apply the skin, it is listed in the dropdown select box, but below that, it says there are no skins or containers??

I know I am all screwed up here, but some insight would be great. I actually read the documentation.

Thanks

When you upload a new HTML skin, Dotnetnuke parses it and creates an ascx file. You don't want to delete that file. You don't need the multiple zips either. Just create a structure like this:

SkinName
 - Skin *skin files go in here
      - skin.html
      - skin.css
 - Containers *container files go in here

and zip up the SkinName folder. Read the skinning doc for further info.
