Hi there,
I'm using the DNN scheduler and have noticed a lag (average 10-13 seconds) between executions even though the interval is set to 1 second.  Each job can take more than 1 second to complete but as soon as its done, I want the next schedule to kick off 1 second later.  What appears to be happening is that there's a 10-13 second consistent lag from the time the schedule completes to the time the next schedule starts.

The screenshot shows this clearly.  When 1 job finishes it sets the next schedule time to be 1 second later (which is correct), but the next job does not start until 10-13 seconds later.  I've been told by my hosting provider that this is a DNN limitation and suggested that I upgrade to a dedicated server.  So i'm not sure if its really a DNN limitation or a limitation imposed by the hosting provider.  Also, If it is a limitation what are my alternatives.  ie; How can i get the DNN scheduler to honor the time interval?

I have also tried to set the interval to 5 seconds bu this made no difference.  The lag betweeen jobs was still 10-13 seconds.   Any ideas,

Cheers
John

Hi there,

I've run some tests on a local server with the same results.  does anyone know what is causing the scheduler lag?  How can i get the scheduler to honour the time interval.  ie; when the task completes, the next scheduled task should run 1 second later.  Is this possible?

cheers

i might add that I've tested this on DNN 7 and 6 with the same delay. Any ideas why a 1 second or 5 second time interval is not honored by DNN the scheduler.
