Regardless of what my future plans are and how I intend to use dnn (whether I'm developing custom modules or how my environment is set), I still cannot find a way to correct my issue which I mentioned in an earlier post (also shown below):

"3. DNN Web Application Framework template (DNN 4.7.0 StarterKit) + Store Module 2.1.0 (in the Available Module section under Host > Module Definitions) = unsuccessful build in VS 2005"

It appears other users have the same problem (such as Ian).

Any help on solving this is greatly appreciated.

For the people reading this post (and for those replying and helping me), have you tried setting up this same scenario on your machine? Do you get the same results (Build failed)? If not then please try it. It only takes a few minutes to set up once you have the StarterKit installed. Simply open Visual Studio 2005 > create a new web application based on the DNN Web Application Framework template > Build the projec (builds successful)t > Run the project > Install using the 'Auto' option installing a SQL Express db > Go to the new portal > Login in as host > Go to module definitions and install the Store module from the 'Available Modules' > After Store module install, go back to VS > bulid the project and the build will fail giving you the error.

Hi bianchi007,
I tested your scenario for you. Exclude the problematic form from project and build your web site. This form is not needed for current store module version (2.01.00). Enjoy.

So simple! Thanks Jan! Thanks for taking the time to test it yourself. I did as you said...I excluded the AddressEdit.ascx from the project and then the project built successfully. Also, it's good to know that this control is not needed for this version. I didn't know that before therefore I didn't want to remove it. I wonder why the AddressEdit.ascx was left in the package if it's not need. ???  Anyways, thanks for your help.

I tried to be as descriptive as I could in my previous posts while troubleshooting this issue. I hope this helps others that come across this issue.

Also, I'm new to DNN. Thanks to everyone for their quick responses. I'm sure I'll have more posts / questions later on. :)

I'm excited about DNN and look forward to seeing the results for the current projects I'm working on (using DNN as the foundation).

Its back!

After installing, configuring and running DotNetNuke 4.8.4 successfully on an ASP.NET 3.5 Framework I added a second web site to the solution that DotNetNuke is installed in on Visual Studio 2008.

Trying to debug the second web site the following error is thrown:

Error 1 Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.AddressEdit'. C:\dotnetnuke\Website\DesktopModules\Store\AddressEdit.ascx 3

Error in line 3: File: 'AddressEdit.ascx.cs' was not found.

I searched the Source files for the 'AddressEdit.ascx.cs'  code behind file and file was not found. It appears that when DotNetNuke 4.8.4 was compiled the 'AddressEdit.ascx.cs'  file was not included.

Where can I get the 'AddressEdit.ascx.cs'  code behind file to get rid of the error so that I have a clean debug compilation?

Thanks for any help that you can provide. If I find the source of the problem, I'll return and let you know.

Ross

I deleted the AddressEdit.ascx control and the project now compiles normally. Apparantly, the AddressEdit module is not needed in the Store Module any longer.
