Thanks for caring about it :)

For taxes, it would be nice at a minimum to have two taxes, many places charge two taxes. For my particular case here in Quebec, it is even worst because we have to calculate one tax on top of another one.

For 100$, we pay 5% GST for any sale shipped to Canada then we add 8.5% PST to the amount including the previous tax (so 8.5% of 105$) if it is shipped within Quebec. I know it does the job to put a single 13.925% tax, but we are required to list two tax lines on invoices. So currently, I use a single tax, but I send an official invoice by mail with the shipments.

It would also be nice to have tax zones, like being able to charge GST only if the shipping adress is in Canada, and then also charge PST if the province is Quebec.

As for shipping, in a dream world for me, it would be awesome to have shipping calculated according to the total order weight with UPS, Canada Post and Purolator.

For the serious web stores of my customers, I use Catalook which includes all that. But not all my customers want to put that kind of money and learning time. Your store module is very easy to understand and fast to integrate which is awesome for small stores.

Thanks for your time Gilles, and let me know if I can help with anything...

Hi Daniel,

The Store module is built to use providers for taxes, shipping, payment and so on. This means than anyone could create a new provider WITHOUT loosing compatibility with future versions. The fact is than after more than 3 years I never received any provider from anyone! :-(

Create a tax provider based on country/region is on my loonnnggg to do list! It could be usefull for several countries, not only Canada. On the other hand, create a shipping provider for each company takes time and I do not have a lot of time! I develops the Store module on my spare time and believe me it's already an half part time job.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

I know all that, that is why I was saying "In a dream world" :)

I might get my hands at it some day. I am medium skilled at programming but if I find some information on creating providers, I might invest some time learning how to do it.

Thanks Gilles.
