Thanks, Gilles!.. I've been watching for this.. I'm going to try it now.    I have the dev account, and fake biz and per set up.  I think I am not setting my PayPalId correctly.   The instructions here show that the email is what to use, I've been using a username that is listed in my PayPal account as PayPalId.

Thanks again for the post,

Jay

Hi Gilles,

That solved 1 issue - the PayPalId in the store admin should be set to the PayPal email for the account.  PayPal has a variable int he merchant account named PayPalId - which is a friendly name for the account, not an email.  So my transactions now go to the sandbox.

However, I'm not able to get the IPN to work.  I've enabled IPN in sandbox, and pointing to my homepage - http://www.mystore.com/Default.aspx - but that doesn't seem right to me, and it doesn't work.  Could you clarify that step?

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,

Your computer must be 'visible' from outside! Did you ask a friend to try access to your local web site? As a sample, if you have created a domain 'mystore.no-ip.info' pointing to your current IP address and than IIS, Firewall and DNN are correctly configured your friend should be able to connect to your local web site using this domain name. In addition, when you simulate a customer at your web site, you have to connect to your web site with this domain name NOT localhost! If you connect to your web site using localhost, PayPal can't resolve 'localhost', then you never receive the IPN request.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

I'm trying this on a hosted server - I skipped testing it locally.   I've tried pointing the IPN to various pages - http://www.mysite.com, http://www.mysite.com/default.aspx, http://www.mysite.com/store.aspx - but I can't get the Order Status to change from Awaiting Payment.

Any Ideas?  I'm using the 2.01.32 version of the store module.

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Jay,

Sorry but the checkout code has been changed a lot from 02.01.32 to 02.01.36 then in 03.00.00.  You should try to follow my advices to be able to debug your version localy. Moreover, a bug related to rouding value in the PayPal provider has been corrected in the version 02.01.36 this bug avoid an order to be validated (Paid status), may be it's related.
