If there was also used a other databaseOwner as 'dbo' or/and an objectQualifier before the upgrade, and they are not set to the same on upgrading the dabase artifacts want also create new.  This can caused that some if menues and images are missing about they are no longer on the tables.  Also if the maschine Key is not correct set, the dtatabase would recreate, and could caused missing artifacts on the tables.

Thanks Mathias.

Maybe the problem is the dbo user problem. We have an existing dbo user (dotnetnukeuser something like that) in the db restored. When I restore it on my VM, I created login as the same user and the site works fine. When I moved the site to DiscountASP, however, I can't create the same user login on their SQL server. Instead I set web.config to use the default dbo user set up by DiscountASP (something like web2005_user). So the default dbo user might have problem of doing things because the db expect the old user (dotnetnukeuser)?

The site uese DNN 4.0.9 and I have not upgrade it yet. I doulbe checked the machine key and it is the old one.

I guess I have to figure out how to make the existing user work on the new site...

Joe
