Today I installed 5.5.336 (install version) to evaluate the workflow and localization features. I ran into few issues while creating localized pages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I was able to localize the home page. I noticed that the HTML module on home page (the one that comes by default) shows "Localize" and "DeLocalize" options in the pencil Menu. I found that these options do not appear on an HTML module when placed on other pages.

2. I created more pages with"Create Localized Versions Of Page" option selected but in vain. However, when I deleted those pages and tried recreating pages with same Name again, DNN crashed with following error:
Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Tab Exists ---> DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabExistsException: Tab Exists at DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabController.AddTabInternal(TabInfo objTab, Boolean includeAllTabsModules) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs.TabController.AddTabBefore(TabInfo objTab, Int32 beforeTabId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Tabs.ManageTabs.SaveTabData(String strAction) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Tabs.ManageTabs.cmdUpdate_Click(Object Sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Can it be that DNN was unable to handle a scenario where a page of default locale is deleted while the localized it's localized versions still exist. Ideally, the child locale pages should have been deleted.

3. In the module settings I see an option "Populate Pages" against each available language. This option claims to create localized copies of ALL the pages in the site. BUT IS THERE A WAY TO CREATE A LOCALIZED COPY OF ONE SINGLE PAGE?

Thanks in advance.

obviously, you have been more successfull in testing than I did with a previous build. there are still open issues being handled by the developers, please recheck with a future build.

1. this is a correct behaviour - the localization goes from the parent (default culture) down to other enabled, published languages 2. appears to be an error - we need to think about how to handle this i.e. auto delete the page from the recycle bin or warn the user they need to do this first 3. hmm, i think at the page level this should create only the localized page - will have a conversation about this and see about updating it.

Update on 3:
Q.
[5:10 pm] i think that "populate pages" should be "populate page" and should only create the localized version of the page we're currently editing
[5:11 pm] the translation status page gives the necessary portal level view IMO
A.
[5:12 pm] The problem with that is you could end up with a crazy hierarchy
[5:13 pm] Its a short cut
[5:13 pm] if a user is working on a page - and they realise that they need "italian" and it hasn't been started yet - this allows the pages to be created and retain the fundamental tab hierarchy
[5:14 pm] the only soln IMO - if this is aconfusing is to remove it completely
[5:14 pm] from page settings

Do you feel this should be removed or is useful (and just needs better documentation)?
