Chat module is not compatible with DNN 5.4. The team lead has been informed about it a couple of weeks ago. I suggest using a different solution.

But you are not answering the question. I have exactly the same situation. What should I do to revert the installation?

Please see the following thread in this same forum: http://www.local.dotnetnuke.com/Commu...

While the fix given will not resolve all of the issues with DNN 5.4.x and above, it will elimininate the server error so that you can get your site back up and uninstall the Chat module.

I had the same issue, but my 'situation' was slightly different...

After installing the DNN Chat module, I launched my site in Firefox and Chrome and got this compile error. Having had a quick look at various forums, I came across this post, however, I didn't read the linking post about adding System.**** to the DNNChatModuleHelpder.vb file and had deleted the 'Chat' module before via WebMatrix IDE. I had a quick look at App_Code > Chat folder and added the System.*** entry as mentioned, but this didn't resolve the issue. I then had to dive a little deeper and once I deleted the 'Add resource' instruction from web.config (line 126, I think?) - Issue resolved. Phew!
