as i was fiddling with the store source last night, i decided that the one thing that was missing that i would find incredibly useful would be some form of custom ordering of categories.

this would enable admins to put their best selling categories at the top.
i first altered the stored procedure "stores_getcategories" to order by categoryID, then it struck me, thats utterly useless.

so i've put in (forgive the discrepencies in the names! i'm not by the source at the moment!):
stored procedure "stores_getcategories"
: Order by Priority, CategoryName

Table "stores_categories"
:new int column "priority" can be null (just incase of existing categoriess(in my case)

ascx control : "edit categories"
textbox (required), priority. and alter the cs code to insert/edit it too.

this is basically what i've done, and found it really useful, maybe its something thats going to be in the next version anyway, but if it isn't, it's not difficult to slot it in now?

thoughts?

(i realise that billions of programmers would have probably done something like this anyway, but i'm a bit of a novice C#.Net programmer)

my next mini project is to cut down the minicart, so that it just shows a total and view cart, checkout, and doesnt display every product.

A new build is coming soon and will address many issues.

BTW If you want it now, Platinum Benefactors have access to it now and are doing the final testing.
