2)  Will the new version support digital sales / downloads / subscriptions and put users in that role once paid?

2) No to all three in this version.  Auto downloads are scheduled in future leases, but not in the next one.

I presently have a client using another store (that I won't name here) that I want to convert to the DNN Store Project once the next BETA is out. The site currently implements digital downloads and has ~7,000 SKUs across ~300GB of files. These downloads are quite large on average ~50MB and represent academic research materials -- thus pay per download is possibl! In addition, I'm using standard ASP .NET best practices to implement a "Secure File System" such that you can't get access to the download files without paying ! In other words the link, an aspx file, is used to force feed you the file!

When the credit card or paypal is authorized the download status moves from "waiting on approval" to "available for download". In addtion after a period of time the downloads are removed from the download area for the customer. The system is also flexible such that you could lock-out the download based upon the number of attempted downloads.

I need this capability now -- so I'm going to move the ball forward myself. If you have an specific ideas or requirements -- I would like to hear them.

PS: The next phase of this project is download evey larger files in the order of 300 to 500MB -- any one familar with an off the shelf tool kit or other kind of source that would implement a client based download manager that I could integrate into all of this? Any one see the download used by Adobe?
