Hello, sorry if this is a very simple question but I'm pretty new in terms of getting everything up and running.

My portal is up running fine and I would basically like to know how to setup new directories for categorizing pages.

Right now when I go to the "Pages" section under Admin, I get the following pages:

Home
Search Results
Admin
...AdminPage1
...AdminPage2
...
...AdminPageN

I would like to know how to create directories to place pages underneath like they are placed under the Admin section.  I notice that when you create a new page, you get the option to insert the new page before, after or at the end of a selection.  Right now, my only selections are Home and Admin.  How do I create more?

Thanks

You can create Parent Pages, and Child Pages, parent pages are what you are thinking of for "categories".

Add a new page, name it whatever you want the "category" to be. You can either choose to make the page an actual page, that you can place module on, or you can choose the Disabled option when creating the page. That will be a page, but you can't actually visit the page.

You can make "child" pages under any other pages on your site, disabled or not.

Great Chris.  Thanks for the quick reply!  One more quick question if I may.  For the parent page, how do the permissions set affect the child page?  I'm guessing they would inherit.  What would happen say if I were to put only Administrators can "View Page" for the parent page, but chose "All Users" for "View Page" for the child page?

If you made it admin only on the parent other users would never be able to see the child page in the menu, and thus wouldn't be able to navigate to that page.

You can make child pages inherit permissions from their parent, but ultimately they can have their  own as well, but if the parent isn't visible, the child won't be either.

Great, that's about what I expected, I just wanted to assure my understanding.

Thanks again, you've been a great help.
