Hi,

I have a design where I need the event details to be displayed on a new page.

For this I use “Event Detail New Page” – bud I selects a wrong skin!!! I need it to use my default skin.

Frontpage/tabid/39/ctl/Details/Mid/414/ItemID/2/language/en-US/Default.aspx?ContainerSrc=[G]Containers/v-container/Container1&SkinSrc=[G]Skins/VandSkin/index

The result I am looking for is (witch displays the default skin)

Frontpage/tabid/39/ctl/Details/Mid/414/ItemID/2/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Jacob

Whenever you see /CTL/something in the URL, DNN is specifically loading a user control on the page, when this occurs the ADMIN or EDIT skin gets loaded. That is simply the way DNN works when modules load only one control.

You can configure the ADMIN/EDIT skin to be the same skin you have on your site, or look for another events module that doesn't load a detail view with the CTL method.

Hi Jacob,

In 5.0.3 (which is in the release process), we have added an option to enable/disable the module/page skin on new pages. Comes of trying to meet one groups of peoples needs, and not considering the reverse. People were complaining these views opened up in the 'admin' skin, so we changed the module to use teh current module skin/container, but of course other people didn't want it that way.

Cheers
Roger

Chris - is there a way to open a view in a new page (blank with no other modules on it) without using the CTL method? We commonly have people who use a small version of the calendar on their home page, and want the detail view to open full screen in a new page.

Hi Roger,

I'm up against a similar problem to this as well. The options to use the portal default (edit) skin / container, or the module skin / container are helpful, but what would be really good would to be able to specify the skin / container for the detail page. That way you'd have total flexibility. In the UI you could implemented it for example as a standard pair of drop-downs for the skin / container selection, defaulting to "Use Portal Default".

Hope that's helpful.
