DNN 4.5.1

I have created a new Text/HTML page, a child of a existing Text/HTML menu page. . It is 'Hidden' because I don't want it to appear in my menu system.

I want to have a click-on hypertext link to this new page from the parent page,."Create Link" in the RTF editor does not seem complete and is ignored. I could easily edit in an  HTML 'href' iline but I don't know the file-name of my new page or where to find it.

Probably ridiculously simple but I am stuck - help!

The fastest way to find the URL to the page is to go to Admin -> Pages.  Select the page you want to link to, then click the "view" link.  Then copy the URL, and paste that as your link.

Thank you Mitch,

So far so good!

Since my new page was initially a copy of its Text/HTML parent I assumed that, if I pasted HTML text into its content pane  DNN would interpret the HTML as in the parent's content pane.

This not happening. When I Edit Text, HTML and then Update the new page's text, the HTML tags are still visible and not interpreted.

Any suggestions?

It's not entirely clear what you are trying to accomplish.  Are you trying to create a separate page with a text/html module that is a reference copy of a module on another page?  So when you edit the text in the module on one page, it gets updated automatically on another page as well?  If that's the case, go to the second page created and delete the text/html module.  Then, from the control panel check the radio button for "add existing module" instead of "add new module".  Then you can select the page and the module from the page that will be copied as a reference copy to this page.  Make sense?  It sounds like when you created the page, you selected to copy from another page, but under the module selection you selected "copy" instead of "reference copy".  "Reference copy" is the one that adds a module from another page and allows you to edit the content from either page and have it also updated on the other page.   If that's not what you were wanting to do, then explain a bit better how you want it to work.

Thanks Mitch and Rick,

I solved the problem by adding a new Text/HTML module below the dud one to the Content pane of the new page, pasting my text into it and then adding the HTML tags. I then deleted the dud module..

You can see the result in http://www.northernirelandregion.org.uk . Go the the News page and about a third of the way down you'll see "Click to see the NI report".

I wonder if the dud module was some sort of default one which did not know about HTML?
