Please note, the "role groups" are just an organisational unit created to simplify and shorten the UI - they will not affect how groups work, so your solution is correct. Please record any issues/enhancement suggestions you have at support.dotnetnuke.com so we can consider them for future releases.

Thanks Cathal.  I will do that.

I always hate to complain since the Core Team has done so much incredible volunteer work.  I am indebted.  However I will make some enhancement recommendations like you suggest.

-something clever or funny.

no, don't worry, construtive criticism is always welcome. Whilst we're aware of many common pain points (try reordering a page on dotnetnuke.com :) ), others will not be so apparent such as running with a very large number of roles syncronised from active directory. When you record a bug/enhancement our QA team will look at it, verify it (if necessary) and then we can consider triaging it for the developers to work on.
