I've a problem in presentation of events module page - if I reach them from pages containing different skin than the page containing the event module should have.
The event module should look like this: http://www.ihaklai.org.il/tabid/61/ctl/Details/Mid/379/ItemID/60/Default.aspx?ContainerSrc=[L]Containers/empty/Empty&SkinSrc=[L]Skins/CssHP/OneColumnCSS (clean page  - the right skin=> OneColumnCSS ).

However when trying to reach the same calendar from other page (different skin) the module event page inherits the skin from that page- resulting in wrong presentation:

http://www.ihaklai.org.il/tabid/37/ctl/Details/Mid/379/ItemID/60/Default.aspx?ContainerSrc=[L]Containers/empty/Empty&SkinSrc=[L]Skins/CssHP/HPcss (the skin is HPcss - the same of the page that contained the link).

I've tried to change the default "admin skin" in site setting (and also host setting) to OneColumnCSS (the skin that I want for events module) - with no result - the site is showing the skin from which I clicked on the link of the event and not the default skin.

Is there a solution to this problem?

THX, Eran

ps.

I'm using DNN4.9.4 and events module 5.00.01

Hi Eran,

The way the module is currently designed to work, is that it picks up the skin/container from the module/tab that it is being initiated from. This was because previously people complained that it was picking up the admin or default skin/contaioner, rather than using the module skin/container.

I would guess that you have put a copy of the module that is on tab 61, onto tab 37. And it is now picking up that skin. As stated above, this is the way it is designed currently. There is a request to add extra functionality in a future release, to be able to specify the skin/container, but to be honest this goes outside the DNN core design as I see it, where look and feel is specified at the page/module level, rather than being able to specify something different to that on the module/page.

Cheers
Roger

I have the same issue and had to revert back to an older version of the events module... Would be nice if features were added to allow the user to select the skin and container. Even attempted to change the code from:

NavigateToURL'<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"URL") %>'

to

NavigateToURL'<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"ItemID") %>'

And had no luck...

In 5.0.3 we have added an option to switch off the inheritance of skin/container.

Cheers
Roger
