I am using Dnn 4.08.04

I want to Convert Dnn User Registration ( User Password ) Encryption from SHA1 to MD5 . Is it possible If so how

Note: I haven't tested this, please let me know if it works

The SQL Server membership provider allows for setting the hash algorithm

membership defaultProvider="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider" userIsOnlineTimeWindow="15" hashAlgorithmType="">

It supports  the following values MD5, RIPEMD160, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512. Whilst we use a custom implementation which doesn't pass that parameter (see Library\Providers\MembershipProviders\AspNetMembershipProvider\AspNetMembershipProvider.vb), it's possible that the value will be read from the master membership declaration and used.
