I am lost. I have been trying for some time to have the store module land me on a payment page in a non-english language, Japanese to be presice.
I was told on the PayPay dev forum that Country = JP and IC = JP
So in my store module settings I have

Paypal Verification URL as https://www.paypal.com/JP/cgi-bin/webscr/
PayPal Payment URL as https://www.paypal.com/JP/cgi-bin/webscr/
PayPal Language as JP
Charset as UTF-8

I always land on an English page where the URL is https://www.paypal.com/j1/cgi-bin/webscr

So whats going on here?  am I building the URLs wrong? Im sure since Gilles, I believe, is French, that making sure the store module lands on the approprite language page for the user would be well covered.

Thanks for the help

Mark

Hi Mark,

You can't imagine how I HATE PayPal!!!

I do not know with a real PayPal account, but with a sandbox account the "lc" parameter is NEVER applyed whatever the value I use (US, FR). The Store module follow STRICTLY the PayPal documentation for PayPal Payment Standard method. The STUPID PayPal interface use instead the prefered locale defined for the user acount and probably use a cookie to remember this value! The documentation explains exactly the opposite (lc value should first apply, then default user locale)! Debuging the PayPal provider is a real nigthmare for me.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi,

I think it has to do with the settings of the:
-  useraccount of the admin/host (what is their time zone and language preferation)
-  Disable the options for locales in ADMIN/HOST languages

With regards, Ton Hermes

Here is an update for my settings

Portal Admin Language = ja-JP
Portal Admin TimeZone = Sapporo, Osaka, Tokyo

Portal Language = ja-JP
Portal Time Zone = Sapporo, Osaka, Tokyo

Store Settings
PayPalLanguage = JP
Char-set = UTF 8

Account settings of item purchaser
Language = ja-JP
TimeZone = ja-JP

Browser Language = ja-JP

Languages Enabled on Portal = ja-JP (only! I disabled English and all others)

So the best I can say is that the setting "payPalLanguage" is not writing to the param 'IC' and I am not in Sandbox mode

BTW this is store BETA

Thank you

Mark

Also I have found that when you jump to paypal you only get the "log into paypal" page and not a "Pay buy credit card or login into paypal" page which gives you a chance to just enter your credit card details.

I have confimed the "input type="hidden" name="lc" value="JP" when used in a paypal button built buy the paypal button wizard will land me on a Japanese page and showing the "Pay by credit card or log into paypal" page

Mark
