Hi;

We have an Australia based Online business and I am just moving our existing website over to DotNetNuke. I am testing the Store Module and have one question: For customers ordering from Australia we have to charge Tax but other countries are tax free. Can this be done with the Store Module, it just seems to have a global tax code?

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

You'r right the base tax provider use only one tax value. The Store module is provider based, this allow you to create a tax provider with your own rules.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

 Can you point us to an example of how to create a tax provider with custom rules? Thanks!

Hi,

In the project DotNetNuke.Store.Providers.Tax.DefaultTaxProvider, look at the TaxController.cs file, method CalculateSalesTax to compute the tax amount. You have to modify the control DefaultTaxAdmin.ascx to allow the admin to enter the rules.
