In some new sites we're launching, we really need the ability to configure the "multi-event on one day" list view to open in a new page. Let me illustrate what I mean:

  1. Configure multiple events to happen on a single day.
  2. View the calendar in month view, and click on the day you configured these events to occur.
  3. The current page will reload, now in list view, displaying all the events that occur on that day.
  4. Clicking on one of these will either reload the same page, or open a new page, depending on how you've configured the detail view to display.

We'd like to be able to configure the event module to open the resulting list view from step 3, in a new page, just the way you can configure the detail view to open in a new page. To see why this is so necessary, check out one of our new sites: http://som.catchthefire.com. Follow steps 2,3 above in the month view calendar (if you do this today you can click on 18th March for an example).

If I understand this correctly, you need a Day view, next to month-week-list; or a modified list view that shows1 day only.

This isn't possible in 4.x - In 5.x tick 'Disable Month View Cell Events', (so event titles aren't shown a day, but the days with events are highlighted), and tick 'Event Day New Page'.

Cheers
Roger

No, what I'm saying is that when we click on a date on the month view that has multiple events, we already get shown a list view that shows 1 day only (the date you clicked on the month view). This is fine... but we'd like to be able to set this to open in its own page, not the current page (the same you can set the detail view to open in it's own page).

And this is what is possible in version 5. If you tick Event Day New Page it will open in a new page, the same as for the detail view...
