I found out a doc about payment gateway provider hidden in the blogs, I read it, and I've a concern, probably specific for the Italian market... but maybe also internationally

I'm wondering if it's possibile to have out of site payment processing.
I read the doc, and it seems that this provider allows only server-to-server transactions (the users send credid cards info to the store module, that later asks for authorization to the payment gateway that sends back the response).
But in Italy almost all gateway provide a complete transaction processing that follow this workflow:

1 - cart is collected on the server
2 - the checkout button, when pressed, sends the user to the gateway (and provide to gateway the amount) where he inserts cc informations.
3 - when the gateway finishes its task he redirects the user to a response page (both for success and failure)

Can this scenario be supported with the current payment gateway provider configuration?
If yes, how can it be done since in the doc only the server.to.server scenario is considered?
If not, will it ever be supported?

One disadvantage of the server-to-server scenario is that the store site must buy an SSL certificate since he has to collect CC info.. with the other approach, since all "critical" operations are done on the gateway, the store will not need SSL...

Hi Simonech,

are you trying to develop payment gateway for Sella GestPay?
I'm interested in it too

Hi Luca,
no, at the moment I'm not doing anything, but I previously worked both with banca sella and banca intesa and bankpass web, and they all have this kind of workflow (bankpass web also sends a server to server call to the server, and so it's even more complex)....
anyway, at the moment, I'm planning to do an integration with Banca Intesa, but still a prospect.... but I wanted to check out if it was possible.

I think that an integration with Sella or Intesa will be similar to the one done for PayPal...
I'll have a deeper view of this
