HELP

 Hey there,

my website used to work fine. its www.FragranceTalk.com    then my server (easycgi) did some kind of a server migration thing, and now i get this runtime error...   does anyone know what i should do to fix this?

thanks!    easycgi hasnt been any help :(

Server Error in '/dnn' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off" />
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm" />
    </system.web>
</configuration>

This is a generic asp.net error. You will need to edit the web.config file of your website and include the below section in order to view the actual error.

<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off" />
</system.web>

However, since this was caused after server migration, your web host should be abe to assist you in this error. If not, please post the error that you receive after inserting the above section of code in your web.config file and we'll try assisting you in this.

Thanks,

- Rick

I'm having the same migration issues with easycgi. They are working on it, but it's been three days. Not happy with their service.

3 days is pretty long period. If they are experienced in hosting DNN applications, it shouldn't take this much time. If you are not happy with their service, it is time to move to another hosting provider. I'd recommend you to go for a reputable hosting provider with DotNetPanel control panel as it provides 1-click DNN installation. We have been using it for quite sometime now and all of our customers are very happy with it.

Good luck!

Lots of people post this error message on the forum, and dont actually follow the instructions in the message.... When you do what the message tells you to do, you will get a different error message with more details.  No one can help you until you can post this full error message.
