I'm running DNN v4.08.  The site has 4 portals, one if which I just added.  The new portal has a valid alias and the corresponding DNS records have been created.  After adding the new portal I cannot access the new portal.  When I navigate to the new portal I get the error:  "Server Error in '/' Application" with the text telling me " The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely", so I don't know why the error is happening.  I have tried changing the <customErrors> value in the web.config file, but it seems that the various values have no effect in what is displayed.

So I need some help diagnosing why can't I access the new portal.  Is there something that I need to do after added a new portal beyond using the "new portal" page on the host??

Thanks.

did you check the IIS web site configuration regarding IP / host headers?

The problem was that the hoster's default .Net version was wrong.  Once I configured the site to be v2.0 it worked.  Thanks.
