Every day the scheduler shuts down (several times it seems) and I have no idea why.

The times are always different and I can't tell what event could be causing this. There are no events prior to the shutdown/stopping of the scheduler to give any clues.

The messages are just:

Not sure if anything's not right there.

And the Host settings are:

Is anything else needed?  Any clues as to how I can resolve this?

Many thanks

David

when the application is shutting down (e.g. due to a recycle of the app pool after several minute of inactivity) the scheduler is stopped. This is by design, since the scheduler is part of the web application and not a background service.

Thanks Sebastian

I hadn't realised this was normal behaviour. So the busier a site gets, the less likely and less often it will stop?  And this is why people look for the 'keepalive' type service?

Cheers

David

Accepted Answer

David,

it depends on the recycle options of the application pool - by default the app pool gets recycled after 20 mins of inactivity to free memory for other sites on the server.
