I've got a user who reported that the menu does not render in Firefox on either Fedora 7 or CentOS 5.2.  All he gets is the Home item, none of the rest of the menu.

I'm running a standard DNN V4.9 installation with the stock DNN blue skins. Site works fine on Windows client with all browsers I've checked (IE, FF, Netscape, Opera, Safari, Chrome).  I've confirmed the behavior using Firefox 3 under CentOS 5.2 running in a VM.

Where to start looking?  I'm guessing it's a javascript issue on the client??  Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks,

Marty

Javascript would be my guess as well, perhaps they have JS blocked altogether?

I've mentioned this issue somewhere before.

My company admin's PCs are all on Latest Ubuntu+FireFox. Sometimes the menu just won't shown or just shown once.

Btw, did anyone notice that [LinkActions] cannot work on DNN 4.9? The Action button will show but nothing when you click on it.
I've tested in 3 DNN 4.9 Websites.

George.

Thanks,
George

Thanks, Guys.  Here's where I am so far:

Javascript IS ENABLED on the client and cookies are enabled. Digging into the page source, the menu items just aren't there!

So, this begs the question: are the menu items generated on the server and included in the page, or are they generated in the javascript at the client?

If the menu items are generated on the server, what's causing the server to only render the Home item and not render the rest of the menu?

If the menu items are generated at the client, then it's likely a client javascript execution error of some sort.

Here's what I've tested so far:

Firefox 2.0.0.4
Firefox 2.0.0.5
Firefox 3.0.1
Firefox 3.0.3
Opera 9.60
Opera 9.62
Ubuntu 8.04

Note that Firefox 3.0.1 was working on Ubuntu 8.04 until I updated it!  Yet, FF 2 versions don't work either.

I've also noticed that where this fails, the menu bar has a lighter colored rectangle containing the Home entry, overlying the gradient bar and stretching across the with of the bar up to where the search radio buttons start.

Still searching for answers...
