How stupid am I now?

I have heard the horror stories of 1 thing can break your DNN, well today has been that day.

I thought since I had installed a few modules, I would just reverse it and see what happens, well now my entire DNN is down hard!

The modules I installed today:

1) XMOD 5.1
2) Ultra Video Gallery
3) Ultra Media Gallery

* On XMOD, I installed the FATGEORGE uploader
* For the Video Gallery, I had downloaded the Binaries File and uploaded it to the DesktopModules folder/Binaries

Well, I actually attempted to just delete the files from the binaries folder, and that didnt work, so then I attempted to uninstall the XMOD.
Both of those went good, but I was still having a few errors when I performed various tasks.  Not everything was giving me an error, but I thought the only thing left to try was the UMG and UVG.  Well I started with UMG.  I got about 2 or 3 of them uninstalled through the UNINSTALL option through the HOST, and then my complete DNN crashed hard!

What do I do to restore?

It has to be something I did today with installing these applications because everything before this was working beautifully.

Please HELP, I am in a major crunch because I have spent about 3 1/2 weeks building stuff, and I really dont want to start from scratch again.

Always backup, and always read the userguides for all modules, as they can sometimes have complex requirements that have to be oserved when installing, configuring or removing.

Go along to Bizmodule's forum and ask for help there. UVG and UMG will both kill the portal if you don't follow the guides. UMG uses neatupload as well, and that is a further clue.

Good luck,
Rob

Well, today has been a very rough day....

Rob, yes I do agree with the advise to backup everything.   Good thing I did have a backup, but what I did actually do, was I went through the config file and just removed all the statements that were causing the errors.  I made several backups as I removed the lines, but it only took about 3 times trying and got my site to come back online.

I finished removed UMG and UVG completely, and my site is back to normal.

I will attempt to build with my XMOD and start the business directory, and then go back later at start back with UMG and UVG on a testing environment to figure out how to configre things correctly.
