The only way I have found to solve my problem is to have the Admin skin the same as the Portal skin.

If the Admin skin is different, on checkout it is displayed instead of the Portal skin.

Hi Deven,

You use the right workaround. I can't change this easily, it's because the checkout control is called by NavigateURL. In this case, the standard DNN behavior is to apply the admin skin to the loaded control. Previously, the module was loaded with SkinSrc and ContainerSrc infos passed to the querystring. But that generated a lot of errors and did not function in most cases. Because a limitation of all Windows system about the length path (260 chars). As you can see with the following url, the length is about 300 chars with de standard DNN Gray skin.

http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2/Store/Myorders/tabid/55/ctl/Checkout/mid/375/Default.aspx?SkinSrc=/DotNetNuke_2/Portals/_default/Skins/DNN-Gray/Horizontal%20Menu%20-%20Fixed%20Width.ascx&ContainerSrc=/DotNetNuke_2/Portals/_default/Containers/DNN-Gray/Image%20Header%20-%20White%20Background.ascx

I should make much modifications in a forthcoming version so that the skin is not replaced any more.

Gilles

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Dear all,

Has anyone found another workaround to solve this? I plan to keep the look of the site v different from that of the admin area.

This is the biggest bug I have with a site soon to go live so any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I don't know whether anyone else has encountered this, but I cannot figure out how to get the Checkout page to appear in the same skin as the rest of my site.

the shopping cart page is styled correctly and I cannot seem to find anywhere that I can set the Checkout skin.

Has anyone successfully had control over the skin on the checkout page? If so, How ?

regards,
James Ashton

Believe it or not, I found the easiest way to deal with the styles in the storefront (and prevent conflicts with your site's skin) is to remove them entirely from the templates folder.  They don't seem to add any value.  Then, add one or two styles as needed, such as setting the cart details table width to 100%.

Hi Gilles,

I'm stuck on styling the checkout control. I am new to DNN and don't want to go down the wrong path, is it not possible to redirect to another page containing the checkout module rather than the dynamic replacement that seems to happen? i.e. is the use of NavigateURL essential? And if so could you explain it to me so I can get a better understanding.

Thanks a lot.
