This is probably a vain hope as it is rather counter-intuitive, but is it possible to set a user up with permissions such that they can view files that are as yet un-moderated?

In other words a sort of halfway house between a standard (file view) user and a full moderator. I can't think of any way to do this myself and I have my doubts if the table structure permits it but maybe some bright spark out there has a suggestion?

Thanks,

Graham

1. I have users who'd like this - basically they want to see their 'draft' before moderation for corrections.

2. Also if they EDIT and exisiting live repostiory entry, this entry is taken off-line during the moderation process. Couldn't the original entry remain in place (live) to be replaced with the edited version on approval?

Many thanks - can't wait for the new release!

An existing repository entry that is edited is then taken off-line whilst awaiting moderation, this can't be right can it?

My users are editing there entries and they disappear until the moderator gets to approve them.

Please help - I must be missing something.

since the current version doesn't have any 'versioning' support ( which means there is only one copy of any particular item ) there really isn't any other option other than taking the item offline until it's re-moderated. It only makes sense, if someone uploads something, you moderate it and approve it ... if they edit the item, you must re-moderate and re-approve the changes, otherwise moderation is meaningless. Someone would just have to upload an item, get it moderated, then they would have free reign to do upload whatever they want without moderation by editing existing items.

Sorry if that doesn't work for you, but it's the way moderation works in version 3.X. Version 4 will include versioning so an item will remain online while a new version is moderated.
