Hi we just deployed the store module on our production site and we have started receiving and processing orders. Host is sending emails all okay no issues, I tested it with "Test Settings" and I get the test email;

however, the STORE MODULE IS NOT SENDING THE EMAILS IT SENDS WHEN A ORDER I CREATED/CONFIRMED/STATUS IS CHANGEDE. As a result end user does not get any emails that they placed orders with us, except from the email they get from paypal.

I went and tried to look into the event viewer but no issues there - nothing is logged.

I also asked my isp to restart both the mail and iis server - still nothing, same situation.

I am not much technical with store module insides, someone please guide me what do I need to do to fix this issue.

Your every help is VERY HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

Anxiously awainting some reply,

Sincerely,

Sid.

Hi Sid,

If the host test email work, then the Store must be able to send confirmation emails. Please, verify if the Store email is defined in the Store settings. If both email are defined (Host and Store), may be you use a different email address and your smtp server do not allow this! Try to use the same email address, just for verify. With my test config, I use two differents email address and it works!

Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

I finally figured out why store would not send status emails. If under host smtp settings, we club the port information with the mail server name (e.g: my.mailserver.com:25) then the store module cannot resolve the host as a result it won't send any emails. It is frustrating though that it does not log this as "exception" in the site events so that we can readily read what went wrong in event viewer.

So solution is to figure out a way to not specify the port information in the host smtp settings and still mak the email server/email id work and then all goes okay with store.

Gilles, any idea why this is happening? or is this the way the store module is coded?
