Is there any chance for the source to be built with VWDExpress or VC#Express?

I have not tried however there was a post from someone that had tried.  He didn't have any luck in getting it to compile.

I've convereted it to 2.0 in VS2005.  Not Express though.  Piece of advice, Web Application Project (Preview V2) will get you past a lot of troubles.

What do you mean with Web Application Project (Preview V2)?

They give you the VS2003 feel with VS2005 functionality.  The new method of building websites is driven by the file system rather than a project as well as granular assemblies rather than a single assembly.  If you've tried to do any new module dev in DNN 4 its a bit of a paradigm shift, at least more of one than most people would like.

This project (which was written by an MS Employee) allows you to have the VS2003 feel where everything is in a single project.  Which is honestly just a different MSBuild file.  but it makes converting DNN modules a snap.
