LinkClick.aspx is also broken for many users. I have not tracked down the cause but about 5% to 10% of our visitors cannot download files. They get an error and it displays LinkClick.aspx.....

An option needs to be provided to just place a nornal link.

We are currently on DNN 9.0.2, what has the DNN team done to either make LinkClick SEO friendly or optional to remove so that users can see their natural file URL's from secure folder locations?

I have to agree, I wish LinkClick should go the way of the dinosaurs ... ghastly development. I don't need DNN to track my file clicks, thats why I have analytics installed. It causes more serious problems than the minor ones it "fixes".

This.

sorry, but Linkclick also includes permission check, however, you may use direct links and the files will be delivered without DNN interfering.

Here's my issue that I can't get around. I have found out how to disable the linkclick.aspx from the links on the site. However, my site is now flagged by Google because there was a link on our site to a site of a local business. The site was originally legit, and now it's malware.

My initial response was to remove the link. However, that linkclick.aspx is still showing up to google, even though I removed every iteration of the link from the page. How do you purge any record of a linkclick file?

i.e. Google webmaster tools says that the link in question is "http://mysite.org/linkclick.aspx....b... However, that is not an active link. Maybe it's resident somewhere in the site structure that I can't find? I added it back and the number of clicks is still showing up in the link report.
