Agreed it's just not good. While I can find the direct path to the file, in the documents module and a few others it's way too cumbersome to have end users post a file with a direct path as a workaround. They must first upload the file, and then locate the full path to the file. This is the only pet peeve with DNN I have!

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove this linkclick behaviour? I've tried to train users the work around of copying the url, but these linkclick.aspx are starting to plague my sites. I'll gladly pay for this to get fixed, or even better to have the linkclick option embedded under site or host settings.

I will definitely agree and throw my support behind some sort of function that disabled LinkClick.

there are advantages and disadvantages for many features. Linkclick allows tracking of clicks and click be working even after the page has moved. AFAIK there are no plans to remove it.

 I agree with you..

There is nothing wrong with the concept of linkclick tracking - its more that its implementation has not evolved in line with the development of friendly urls.   Given that linkclick is actually now a dynamic element not a physical file it seems to me like it could be upgraded to actually be functional without breaking seo.

Maybe something as simple as

www.mysite.com/linkclick/home.aspx could be a viable trigger for link click tracking.

Not to mention that fact that there is actually no interface currently installed inside DNN to display the results of the data collected.
