Hi Guys.

Why isn't there a disable/enable option on the shipping settings (there is for the tax settings)?

My site bases shipping on total order value, not weight or volume measurements.  Is there a way we can disable shipping settings?  Or better still, in the next version can we have order value as an option for shipping rates?

Dave

Hi,

You can read my response about how to workaround with shipping here. If you have a good knowledge in programming, you can create a new shipping provider based on total instead weigth. The code is very close to the default provider. Instead add product weigth, you have to add product subtotal.

Thanks for the reply.

Firstly I'll say well done all involved.  The new store is miles ahead of the previous version and will add real value to DNN as a whole and all the site who use it!

I'll make do with the shipping setup from the link you provided as I am useless with code and programming.  If someone could add a shipping option based on purchase sub totals in a future version it would be fantastic!

Thanks again all involved.

Dave

Hello!

We have found another solution. We made some changes: an additional setting "Shipping Type" in Store Admin module have been added. In dependence of the setting total weight or total price are imparted into CalculateShippingFee(int, decimal) function at Checkuot.ascx page.

Hi Vavkin,

This is exactly what I want add in a future version. But with some minor modifications:

  • Replace Min. Weight by Min. Scale (if someone have a better suggestion, do not hesitate!)
  • Replace Max. Weight by Max. Scale
  • Replace Cost by Value
    • This three modifications can be done easily inside the DNN language editor
  • Rename Price by Grand Total

If you want share your code with the community, you can send me the modified files. I will add it to the next version.
