I tried using the store module some time ago but gave up because I could not find a way to set the currency symbol to GBP pounds sterling. I thought I'd try again now... and again no joy.

I have set

  • Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Payment Settings... to GBP
  • and even
  • Host > Host Settings > Basic Settings > Payment Settings... to GBP
  • Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Other Settings > Default Language... to English (United Kingdom)

I have cleared the cache and restarted the application - just to be on the safe side.

......... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ok - I've worked it out.

The default Locale for users was set to English (United States) so each individual user was seeing the US language pack
So in...
Users (or Admin > User Accounts) > Manage Profile Properties > Edit Locale
I've put in the default value English (United Kingdom) > next > and in Manage Localization I've set it to English (United Kingdom)

oh well - hope this stops someone else tearing their hair out!

Hi,

If you use Store 01.00.01, it's normal! the next version Store 02.01.00 and WWStore 02.01.01 use a currency symbol setting. This allow to define the currency used for product price. Thus, when the web site use two or more languages, the currency symbol do not change.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Thanks Gilles

I thought I had installed the latest version - but it looks like I hadn't after all. Woops!

I'll give the newer version a try as the dollar symbol was still showing in Safari.
