It seems that there is a hard limit of 7 days for an event notification. Is it possible to change this or at least make it configurable?

My use case: I have a calendar for sporting events that we run (cycle races). In some cases, the closing date for entries is 3 weeks prior to the event. I would like users to get reminders 4 weeks before the event so they can get an entry form off in time. Currently, you can only get a remnder/notification a max of 7 days in advance.

Understood.  The only issue is we need a way to make the Notification Change Notice Period Module Instance specific.  Currently the Event Notification process is non-Module specifc (works the same for all instances of the Events Module).  If you can enter this as a module feature request we'll try to cover this in a future update.
