Hi,

What do you mean by B2B feather? Which would be your needs?

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

I think it should be feature!

B2B = Back to Back, the Customer raises a Sales Order, and a Porchase Order request is sent to the Vendor / Supplier, who sends the product direct to the Customer, so you are working as a Merchant really, as you never handle the Products.

I have not seen any function in this version!, I was wondering how long for the release of the new version?

Hi David,

For me B2B is Business To Business.  This is why I ask!

This could be possible without too many modifications. It's just an email, no?
How do you imagine this kind of feature? For me, this could be somthing like that :

  • A Suppliers/Manufacturers table would be needed, with controls for manage it (Add/Edit, List, ???).
    • ManufacturerID
    • Company
    • Some fileds for his address, phone, email
    • A contact name
  • Each product have a field Manufacturer, then :
    • 1 SQL command for create the Manufacturers table
    • 1 SQL command for insert distinct Manufacturers name from Products table to Manufacturers.Company
    • 1 SQL command for add the column ManufacturerID to the Products table (Foreign Key)
    • 1 SQL command for update the Products.ManufacturerID with a join between Products.Manufacturer and Manufacturers.Company
    • 1 SQL command for drop the column Products.Manufacturer
    • 1 SQL command for adding a constraint between Products.ManufacturerID and Manufacturers.ManufacturerID

Fine! Now whe have our Suppliers/Manufacturers logic, and what? Do you send an email to the manufactuer any time a customer buy a product? Good questions, no?

Gilles

Hi Gilles

That sounds correct, one more thing would be a "Unit Cost" Field, then with a function to send the Sales Order as a Purchase Order using Vendors Details and the quantity and "Unit Cost", one issue would be in you example the Table and the 4 chairs, comes from Vendor #001, but the bed I brought in the same cart comes from Vendor #033, so two email orders would need to be sent.

This would be a good Idea for me as well, with the photographic prints, if the customer wants a print on canvas then I would outsource this to a Vendor who would already have digital copies of the images, if it is on paper I would print it myself, but I still need a multi-price matrix first, just two tables a "Price Group", and "Price Group Lines", with "Price Group", Description, "Sort Order", "Unit Price" and if I was adding the B2B, ManufacturersID, but then I would have to change the cart to handle this :~{

I do not have the skills to do this, so maybe in a later release?

David
