I've just been examining a site that has a simple cart plugged into it. I don't know what the cart is but it's so simple and tidy that I think it could serve as a model for some bits of the next DNN Store... especially the checkout bit.

https://ssl.encrypted.co.nz/heavenlysent/viewcategory.aspx?id=69

The products have attributes.. and they are even selectable in the list/grid view.

But mainly I like the cart page, because it has everything in a single page:

https://ssl.encrypted.co.nz/heavenlysent/ViewCart.aspx

That's real tidy and a good model for a simple cart. So that's a suggestion for the next version of the DNN cart.. keep it nice and simple.. DNN is slow enough without having to wade through 5 pages in the checkout.

The tickbox for the newsletter is also handy and it'd be nice if filling in this form would also create a user account on the site if the visitor is not already registered. Also ideal would be if the address details were carried on through to the PayPal page to populate fields there.

Hi Rob,

I agree, it's realy nice. But there is no country from Europe in the currency converter ! And when you select a country the price still displayed in $ !

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Yes, being a florist, my guess is that they only deliver to local addresses. The coutry list is just for the addresses.

But, you've brought up a good point about the user account country and the currency used in the cart. It would be handy if they were matched automatically. I realise that PayPal doesn't have as many currencies as DNN has countries, but perhaps the country selection could at least pre-populate the currency.

I think if Will lays out some important basic functionality and then does it as well as he does his other other stuff, then this module will go far... I'm really looking forward to it.

And I've also just noticed another interesting thing about that cart there... it doesn't seem to use a datagrid to display the items. Instead it has them all in divs so that it automatically adds more columns as the page is stretched sideways. I've no issue with datagrids so long as they can be adjusted in settings, but this div method does show another way.
