Hi Erik,

Compliments on the new release of the announcements module!

Currently the pubDate in the xml syndication file corresponds to the creation date of the announcement. Is it possible to let the pubDate correspond to the Publish date property? To me that seems to make more sense and gives the user more control, but I guess this isn't possible due to search provider implementation?

Thanks in advance,

Rudgr

Actually this was one of the fixes done.

You have to remember though: it might be necessary to reindex the search index to enable this to be picked up by the search index, and thus also the rss feed (rss feed is generated from search index)

Also: the rss feed is cached, so you might have to wait a bit (i think 30 seconds) before a new feed becomes available

If you have trouble reindexing, you could try clearing the search index by running this as script from host> sql:

delete from {objectQualifier}SearchIndex

I rest my case (well, I actually didn't even had a case because the timezone in my development environment, was still set to Pacific Tijuana time ;-)

Hi Erik,

I'm runned into some troubles with my own test module where I also used the start date in the ISearchable implementation instead of the modified date. The problem is that updated items don't get reflected in the search indexer as described in the post below:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/mid/2108/threadid/114674/scope/posts/Default.aspx#114979

How did you fix this?

Thanks
