Hello,

We are running several DNN websites, and we wanted to try out the blog module.

On one website running DNN 4.6, the module is working fine, without any errors or problems.

However, we have a website running DNN 4.8 and we can't get the blog module to work.

While installing (blog 3.3 or 3.4), everything goes fine, no errors, then we add the module to a page (which adds the 5 parts of the module). Then, (logged in as host atm, just to try it out) we click "create blog", and the blog is added to the list. Then we add a blog entry, until then, everything works as expected.

After the blog entry is created the blog view shows the summary of the entry and the links "comments(0)", "read more", "the name of the blog" and "edit blog".

The "edit blog" works fine and I can edit my blog.

However, the links "comments(0)", "read more" and "the name of the blog" just reloads the page but does nothing else.

It does not open the comment-entry-window, does not show the entire blog post, it just reloads the page but nothing else.

Now I understand that there must be something wrong, but I don't know where to look. I can't see any errors in the event viewer, I have also upgraded from 4.8.2 to 4.8.4 successfully but it did not change the blog problem.

I'm trying to find what is wrong with this particular DNN installation that makes the blog module (partly) inoperable.

thx in advance and kind regards,

nosdrovni

Is this blog visible on the web?  If so, maybe taking a look will help identify what's causing the problem.

Thanks,

Don

Thank you for your reply.

I have made a test page here: http://www.mobboa.com/Storeadmin/Verborgenpaginas/Blog/tabid/116/List/0/Language/nl-BE/Default.aspx . There are 2 blogs there named "nos blog" & "sdf". As you can see none of the links seem to go somewhere, they just reload the page. I've re-added the blog modules several times but the result is always the same.

I'm not sure if what you will see is enough to identify the problem.

Yeah, I'll need to take a look at the database.  If you're interested, I'm happy to take a quick look at the database to see what's wrong.  Contact me offline if you're interested.  string.Join("@", new string[] {"don", "itcrossing.com"});

Well that's going to be difficult, since it is a production environment.

Is there a table content I can paste or something I can check in the database if the correct rows are being inserted or something?
