Hum, is this forum a place to promote third parties components or to exchange about the open source version of the DNN gallery ?

I can imagine that bugs are not corrected to redirect frustated users to commercial galleries...

Danvy, I see no wrong doing here, there has not been any blatant promotion of "that" photo gallery. hence the posts have been approved.

As you will notice if you search this forum, you will notice a repetitive topic. Gallery is BETA, but the latest release was mistakenly not clear about it. I will post a pinned thread in an effort to let people know about this status. Just FYI, the issue with the Object reference in Configuration/Settings was corrected and should be in place for the next release.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

I figured out where my general exception error was coming from with viewer.aspx.  It's not the gallery.

At some point after google had indexed the images causing the problems, I deleted the gallery module from the page and from the recycle bin.  Later I put it back but of course now the moduleID in the url mid=373 is now something else.  When the request comes in the tabID matches and tries to load the incorrect moduleID and it's general exception time.

So I would classify this as more of a core error handling issue than anything.  My problem now is that I get a bunch of these all the time and after about 8 exceptions IIS resets the the application.  Some times IIS it'self restarts.  Not good.  :)

It's not limited to the gallery. Any module would have the same problem I believe.  I'm going to find the right place to post this problem now.  :)

That's right Hooligames. When I made my inital post I was having trouble getting the dnn gallery to work with my 4.0.2 install and had not yet even heard of "that" photo gallery. Then "that" photo gallery's author donated it to my site since we have a common interest..the Marine Corps. I simply replied to his post in keeping with the natural flow of the thread.

Hey!  I was in the Corps for over 10 years, where's my free copy?  *grin*

Seriously though, I'm hurting with this inability to use it in 4.0.2, I've been without a working gallery since November.

I keep hoping that the new version would show up, and I could get it running again, but that doesn't look like it will be anytime soon.  So, it looks like I'll have to beg for money to purchase a different version...
